Kenya Bound

Dear Family and Friends,

A great door of opportunity has opened up for us, and we are stepping through it. This November we will embark on a 6 month mission to Kenya, Africa with the Global Mission Team at our home church, Harbour Fellowship! As many of you already know, we just returned to Canada in July from nine months in Central America, where we helped build homes, taught at community schools, and worked at an orphanage. During our time in Central America, we felt God tugging at our hearts to dive deeper into missions and this led us to step alongside the efforts of our friends at Harbour to disciple the nations (Matthew 28:16-20).

In Kenya, we will be working with PACE (Pan African Christian Exchange) Ministries where we will help teach in their junior school and school of theology. We will also be involved in several outreach ministries – Taryn’s desire is to provide a helping hand in the local orphanages and to spread her passion for photography by running a photo club for the youth, and Ryan’s desire is to help with music ministry within the local churches and provide I.T. support for PACE.

Prayer support is our number one priority as times will surely get tough – be assured that your support and encouragement will keep us going! Please pray that we would: stay faithful and determined, persevere through trial, rely on the wisdom and direction of God, and be useful and effective in serving God and his people (James 5:16, 2 Timothy 2:20-21).

As a final note, we also ask you to prayerfully consider walking with us through financial support. It’s easy to think you can’t make a difference if you don’t have much to give or are unable to uproot for six months, but the truth is that giving anything wisely and prayerfully will have an enormous impact as we minister to God’s children in Africa. Though our desire is to live simply as we walk along-side the local people, we expect our preparatory, travel and living expenses to sum around $15,000. We are hoping to cover at least half of these costs with our savings and local fund raising efforts.

If you feel led to make a tax-deductible donation, please make a cheque payable to "Harbour Fellowship Church", write "Kenya-6 months" on the memo line, and mail it to:
